The destination

Two million hectares of wilderness, and your own corner of it

Kruger is one of Africa's great wildlife parks, stretching for more than 350 kilometres along South Africa's north-eastern border. All of the Big Five live here, along with wild dog, cheetah and an extraordinary variety of birds.

We focus on Kruger's private concessions: areas inside the national park where only a handful of lodges may drive. You get Kruger's wildlife and scale with exclusive traversing, off-road tracking and very few other vehicles.

  • LocationLimpopo and Mpumalanga, north-east South Africa
  • Best timeMay to October, when the bush thins and animals gather at water
  • Getting thereFly to Skukuza, Hoedspruit (Eastgate) or Kruger Mpumalanga International, or by light aircraft to a lodge airstrip
  • MalariaLow-risk area; ask your doctor about precautions
