Botswana

Wilderness, water and very few people
The country

Africa at its wildest and most exclusive

Botswana has chosen low-volume, high-value tourism, and it shows. Huge private concessions host only a handful of small camps, so you can spend a whole morning with a pride of lions or a herd of elephants without seeing another vehicle.

The Okavango Delta is the heart of it: a vast inland delta of channels, lagoons and islands, explored by mokoro, boat, vehicle and on foot. Chobe adds some of the largest elephant herds on the continent, and the rocky Tuli Block offers something different again in the east.
