The destination

Elephants by the thousand

Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. In the dry season, great herds come down to the Chobe River to drink and swim, and watching them from a boat at sunset is unforgettable.

The riverfront is close to Kasane and just over an hour from Victoria Falls, so Chobe is easy to combine with the Falls and the Okavango Delta.

  • LocationNorth-eastern Botswana, on the Chobe River
