Okavango Delta

Botswana · UNESCO World Heritage Site
The destination

A wilderness of water in the Kalahari

The Okavango is one of the world's largest inland deltas, a maze of channels, lagoons and palm-fringed islands spreading across the Kalahari. Each year, floodwaters from the Angolan highlands arrive in the dry season, drawing wildlife from far and wide.

Small camps in private concessions offer game drives, walks, boating and gliding through the reeds in a traditional mokoro. It is one of the most beautiful and exclusive safari destinations in Africa.
