Wild, quiet and unfenced from Kruger

The Timbavati and Klaserie are private reserves on Kruger's western boundary, with no fences between them and the national park, so wildlife moves freely across the whole Greater Kruger. The Timbavati is famous for its rare white lions, and the Klaserie is one of the largest private reserves in the area, with a wonderfully wild, uncrowded feel.

Lodges here tend to be small and personal, and guides can follow animals off-road. It is excellent value compared with the Sabi Sands, and easy to reach from Hoedspruit.
