The lodge

A 1920s homestead with old-world safari charm

Kirkman's Kamp is built around a restored 1920s homestead in the Sabi Sand, and it captures the feel of an early safari like few other lodges. The main house has deep verandas, a library and a sitting room filled with old photographs and memorabilia, and the pool looks out over the Sand River.

Guests stay in cottages with their own verandas, claw-foot baths and views over the bush. It is part of andBeyond, one of the most respected names in African travel, and the guiding, conservation work and service reflect that.

Game drives cover a rich area of the reserve, with leopard, lion and elephant seen often. Children of all ages are welcome, which makes it a good choice for families.

Best forFamilies, history lovers and anyone drawn to classic safari style.
